Dorothy “Dottie” Darleene Gilbert
Dorothy “Dottie” Darleene Gilbert, left this earth to spend eternity with Jesus on June 1st, 2016. She was born July 1, 1933 in Faulkton, South Dakota. Dottie grew up on the Vogeler family farm as the youngest of sixteen children. She graduated from Faulkton High School in 1951 and married Vernon Cecak, February 1952. Dottie and Vern lived in a variety of towns surrounding the Waterloo, Iowa area and moved to Rawlins, Wyoming with their three children. They later divorced.
Dottie met Odies Gilbert in Rawlins, they married March 1965 and they remained active members of the community. In 1970 the two purchased Jeffrey Lanes bowling alley and spent many weekends water skiing at their Seminoe get-a-way. They maintained ownership of Jeffrey Lanes until 1979 then moving to Boulder City, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Erma (Border) Vogeler, husband, brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Bonnie, children: Sandy Lindemood (Neal) of Boise, ID., Debbie Garcia (Richard Kindel) of Las Vegas, NV.,Tony Gilbert (Lisa) of Ely, NV, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for June 20th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church Las Vegas, NV.
