Louis Franklin Kline III (“Lou”), 67, died peacefully at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nev. on June 18, 2016. Lou was born on July 1, 1948 to Louis and Doris Kline in Baltimore City, Md., the eldest of eight children.

Choosing not to be drafted, Lou joined the Navy in 1967 and served on the USS Hancock. He served in Vietnam on various air/sea rescue missions and received an Honorable Discharge as an E-4 in 1971. Then Lou was a reservist with the U.S Coast Guard for 8 years where he received an Honorable Discharge as an E-6.

Upon discharge Lou lived in Maryland, Washington and Las Vegas, Nev., where he met his wife, Suzi. They moved to Rawlins, where they raised their children.

Lou worked as an ASE certified mechanic for 40 years, became the Superintendent of the Central Shop for the City of Rawlins, a Building Inspector/Official for the City of Rawlins and the Carbon County Planner.

Lou’s greatest joys were his wife of 30 years, Suzi, his children and his grandchildren. For a time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends in Rawlins, all of which were a part of the ‘louder the better’ club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Lou is preceded in death by his father, Louis F. Kline Jr., mother, Doris Louise Kline, brother, Mark Kline and son, William Stanton Kline.

He is survived by his wife, Suzi Kline, daughter, Cynthia Ann Kline, son Louis F. Kline IV (Hillary), daughter Christine Marie Bernal (John Paul) and daughter Jessica Lynn Lightfoot (Dean), and grandchildren Devin, Drew, Ty, Austin, MeKenzie, Jaden, Arius and Amelie. He is also survived by brother William Kline (Pam), sister Debbie Lindsey (Steve), sister Susan Welch (Blaine), brother Ricky Kline, brother Kurt Kline and sister Beverly Ewing (Dan).

A graveside service for Lou will be planned at a later date in Rawlins.
