Barbara Jean Madsen
Barbara Madsen, 65, of Craig, Colo. passed away at her home on Aug. 8, 2016. She was born in Hanna on Feb. 11, 1951 to parents Dale and Sue (Bisignano) Solaas. She grew up in Hanna attending school there where she enjoyed riding horses and participating in Little Britches Rodeos.
Barb spent the majority of her adult life working in the mining industry. She worked at Arch Mineral, Cyprus Shoshone and retired from Peabody 20 Mile coal in 2015 due to health.
She was known for her warm smile and unconditional friendship. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Craig Madsen, of the family home. She is also survived by her three sons, Charles Hall, Gary Hall, Jr., Dale King, and step-daughter Arshelle Madsen-Spencer; as well as her sister, Catherine (Dennis) Wick of Elk Mountain; mother-in law Nola Madsen and sisters-in law, Cathy Cooper, Pat Larson, Susan Williams, Darla Tolman, and Carolyn Jennings of Utah. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; nephews, nieces and a multitude of good friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jerry Hall, step-son Troy Madsen, brother-in-law Hal Madsen and father-in law Ivan Madsen.
A Memorial Service for Barb will be held at the LDS Church, 1295 West 9th Street, Craig, Colo. at 11 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 13th. Services are under the direction of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yana Ave, Craig, Colo. Burial services for Barb will be held in Aurora, Utah at 11 a.m. on 8/15/2016.
