Hugh G. Woodward
Hugh G. Woodward passed away peacefully amongst family Sept. 14, 2016 at the age of 90 in Orting, Wash. He is now reunited with his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Fern Woodward, who preceded him in death last year. Dad was born and raised in Sunnyside, Utah and joined the United States Armed Forces in 1945. He was one of six children. Dad married our mother, Marjorie, on May 30, 1961. They resided in Rawlins until moving to Tacoma, Wash. in 1967.
Dad worked for the Boeing Company for 22 years until he retired in 1989. Dad was active in the LDS church on the high council for many years. In his younger days he loved to hunt, fish, and camp with his family. He enjoyed golf and coached baseball and basketball for many years at the North End Boys Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Bertha, and his siblings, Shirley, Peggy and Morris. He is survived by his son, Randy and his wife Lisa of Orting; daughter, Ronda and her husband Todd of Graham; daughter, Shelly Farber of California; his sister, Myrna of Texas; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 best friends, Al Polansky and Tracy Hemming.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steve Stringfellow and the Staff of Tacoma General Hospital for their continued care this past year.
Viewing will be at New Tacoma Funeral Home, 9212 Chambers Ck Rd W, University Place, WA at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23rd, followed by a Graveside interment service at 1 p.m.
