Handcuffs with gavel on a wood background

RAWLINS – A rural Carbon County woman who was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend in early April told authorities that mental illness was largely to blame.

The alleged victim said in court documents obtained Monday that her boyfriend, who served in the U.S. Army for six years, suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, a condition that sometimes adversely affects military veterans. She also told authorities that he lives in a remote area, that his residence resembles a bunker and that there are weapons and food all over the place, according to court records.
