Veteran deputy retires

Carbon County Sheriff’s Office Dep. Mishell Howard stands beside Sheriff Archie Roybal for a photo during her retirement ceremony on Monday inside the Carbon County Courthouse. Dep. Howard served 16 years for the county sheriff’s department. Within that timeframe she worked five years for the detention center and an additional 11 years at the courthouse, carrying out bailiff and security duties. Asked her thoughts on her time with the department, Dep. Howard said, “I enjoyed it, it was a good job. I’m looking forward to playing with my horses!”
