RAWLINS — On Tuesday, March 26, the U.S. Small Business Administration, in partnership with the Wyoming Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) APEX Accelerator, will be holding HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zones) training in Rawlins.
The training will be held from 12-1 p.m., at the Business Innovation Hub, located at 116 4th St.
HUBZones are determined by either governor designations or census tracts, “and are a great avenue for small businesses to win government contracts to help their businesses grow,” according to business development specialist Drew James.
“The training that we are providing will help businesses in the area take advantage of the SBA (Small Business Administration) HUBZone program and assist them with federal contracting.”
According to the event flyer from the SBA, the U.S. government is the largest customer in the world. It buys all types of products and services, which includes large and small quantities.
“The government works to make sure small businesses get at least 23% of all federal contracting dollars,” it states. “Government contracting is a great way to diversify your revenues and customer base.”
Census Tract 9678Census Tract 9678 is a HUBZone, designated by the governor, for 2024.
“Through SBA’s HUBZone program, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones and gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition.”
Those who are interest in selling to the federal government, obtaining a competitive advantage and/or would like to schedule a one-on-one with SBA or APEX, are invited to attend the training.
